“the number of people killed with a knife in England and Wales in 2021/22 was the highest in 76 years.“

Or since they started keeping a record of such things.

Nah, you can't be right Chigwell. People were getting stabbed up everywhere all the time back in the day, it just wasn't getting reported.

You must have missed all those campaigns back then to stop gang violence and stabbings.

As a child I lived a half mile from Manford Way. At any age or time or day it was perfectly safe to walk down there. The only things of note were the post-War prefabs which were still lived in throughout the '60s.

As soon as someone mentions the Krays against what is happening in this country today, I bail out. Not worth debating with idiots like that.

I’m sorry mate but you are out of touch. The whole gang/machete/road thing has exploded over the last ten years

Goose 3.54 “I’m seriously considering moving the family out of the UK, this country seems to be on a continual downward slope.”

So whereabouts in Russia do you think you’ll settle?

You're right mate, it's always been as bad as it is now, on such a wide scale.

All good in the hood.

Re: Double stabbing in Hainault
So you’re telling me everyone back in the day fully respected the police and adults?

Granted filming and sharing it would’ve been an absolutely minimal if any due to the times.

No stabbings happened ever until recently as well?

What I’m saying is it’s always been there, widely reported now due to social media and the general narrative being pushed anyway.

Eerie Descent 5:28 Thu Feb 16
Re: Double stabbing in Hainault
Yeah you're right, my mistake.

There's always been kids talking to adults and police with disrespect, filming it and sharing it for BANTZ, stabbing each other up in school, metal detectors to get in those schools.

That's ok, because there were some criminal gangs in the 60's.

Re: Double stabbing in Hainault
Culture is glorified on the tele? FFS is it just now or do all these gangster films back in the day not count? The Krays on talk shows etc

Can’t pick and choose when it’s wrong.

Gang life always been there whether reported on or not, it’s nothing new.

Oh it’s the kids that talk with accents, yeah cause Cockney rhyming slang or back slang was normal too.

Eerie Descent 4:52 Thu Feb 16
Re: Double stabbing in Hainault
What do you expect, when that culture is glorified on the telly and social media?

A good friend of mine grew up in Manford Way how times have sadly changed.
I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to feck off out of this country.

A 40 year old man was murdered on Canvey just two weeks ago outside the haystack pub. Left two Children behind. West ham fan.

Shocking.

The police have charged 3 men from Croydon/Beckton.

Yep even the nice bits have yoofs seeing their mates 'in a bit' when they say goodbye or 'I swear down' when telling you the truth......Top Boy is a great show but has made it a free for all for wanna be gangsta terminology.....does make me chuckle though as they would be victims of crime 'in da hood' they aspire to sound like.....

Drugs innit, probably from limes farm down the road. Another area that's gone rapidly downhill. I probably struggle to raise an eyebrow at this shit as it doesn't shock anymore, although the wood st machete attack was a surprise as it's hipster central down there nowadays. I'd certainly pay a lot more attention if I had kids, then that would certainly be a worry.
